RSF urgently calls upon the international and regional communities

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) urgently calls upon the international and regional communities to take immediate and decisive action to prevent the transformation of the Zamzam IDP Camp in North Darfur into a war zone. We demand an end to the abhorrent use of innocent civilians as human shields by the so-called "joint forces," whose reckless political and military ambitions are directly endangering innocent lives.

The RSF holds the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), its allied militias linked to the terrorist Islamic Movement, and their mercenary affiliates fully accountable for the systematic militarization of the camp. This deliberate and inexcusable act constitutes a grave violation of human rights and a flagrant breach of international humanitarian law, including the Geneva Conventions, which are designed to protect civilian populations from the horrors of armed conflict.

We call on the international community, humanitarian organizations, and human rights advocates both in Sudan and globally to exert immediate and sustained pressure on the forces of Minawi, Jibril, and other military groups to withdraw from the camp. Their presence in civilian areas exposes vulnerable populations to untold suffering and escalates the already devastating humanitarian crisis. The fortification of military positions within an IDP camp not only jeopardizes the lives of the displaced, but also undermines the sanctity of international humanitarian principles.

The RSF reaffirms its unwavering commitment to the protection of civilian lives. We will use every means at our disposal to shield innocent people from the devastating effects of this conflict. Our resolve is resolute: we will take all necessary actions to dismantle these mercenary forces and jihadist militias tied to the SAF, ensuring the complete and permanent removal of their presence from Darfur. The safety of the Sudanese people is non-negotiable, and we will not relent in our efforts to end this violence.
